Overview
This proposal covers the design and print-ready file delivery for Expedição Brasil Invisível — the editorial album product you're preparing to launch. The brief reads strong: a clear three-layer concept (impressa · manuscrita · afetiva), six cities with full narratives already written, sophisticated visual references (Monocle, Kinfolk, UXUA, Fasano, colonial maps, Brazilian modernist posters), and a clean sticker mechanic that ties the play system together.
Engagement is hourly at $35/hour. The estimated total is $1,680 – $1,820 for the full book + A6 sub-notebook + sticker system + print-ready CMYK package. Hard deadline June 1, 2026.
The numbers are grounded in a careful read of the brief — pages counted, stickers enumerated, CMYK and hot-stamping spec accounted for as their own production phase. Files are delivered to you; printing is on your side.
Memória familiar real não é só curadoria estética. The brief said this in passing. The proposal takes it seriously.
Approach
Four ideas that shape how we treat editorial work of this kind.
01
Design once, vary with intention
Six cities means six color systems and six narrative tones — but one shared editorial grid, one type system, one spread architecture. The brief already names the mechanism: a token-driven palette swap. We build the master, then differentiate per city with restraint.
02
Generous blank space is the design
The third layer — afetiva — is the empty space waiting for what wasn't planned. Treating that as a feature, not a void, is what separates a sellable heirloom from a worksheet. Pages need breathing room as a deliberate choice, not as filler.
03
Print is its own deliverable
CMYK conversion, bleed, hot-stamping spec, paper texture and weight, sticker production specs — none of this is afterthought. It's planned from page one and lives in a dedicated phase before files leave our hands.
04
Tight delivery, no ceremony
Two-and-a-half weeks is a sharp window. We deliver files at each phase gate, no status meetings, no progress theater. Communication runs through your project lead — we focus on shipping the asset.
What's in the album
Counted from the brief. The sum is what drives the hour estimate.
Six city sections (4 spreads × 6 = 48 pages): Header / Narrative / Missions / Registry per city — same architecture, distinct color and content per place
Closing (2-3 spreads · 4-6 pages): The Code Revealed, Council Titles, Last Question, Sensorial Archive
Plus, separately bound
"Anotações que Ninguém Pediu" — A6 sub-notebook (~24 pages): deliberately near-blank. The brief calls this provavelmente a parte mais valiosa do álbum daqui a 10 anos. We honor that by designing it with restraint — typography lockup, cover, spine — and otherwise leaving the pages alone.
And the printed sticker sheet
Detailed in section 5 below. Roughly 70 individual stickers across 5 design families: city seals, mission tags, polaroid-passport categories, conquest badges, expedition-level marks.
What's already authored. The brief delivers ~95% of copy ready for verbatim use: city narratives, mission texts, taglines, the manifesto, the closing keywords, the structural framing. That's a major gift. It means this engagement is execution-heavy, not content-creation-heavy. The hour estimate reflects that.
Small content gaps you'll fill. A few short pieces still need writing — "Você Sabia?" curiosity bullets (5 per city), the list of 7 conquests, "Conselho da Expedição" titles. These sit on your side or your editor's side; we leave styled placeholders ready to receive the copy. Estimate excludes content writing.
The six cities
Each gets the same 4-spread architecture, distinct color and tone.

The sticker system
Physical printed stickers — kiss-cut on adhesive paper — that the family glues into the album as the trip happens. Five design families, ~70 individual stickers in total.

Total ~71 stickers across 27 unique designs. Delivered as a single printed sticker sheet (or two sheets, depending on size economy at the print shop) — kiss-cut so each sticker peels off cleanly.
Sticker production spec. The sheet is delivered as print-ready CMYK PDF with cut-line layer, sticker paper recommendation (matte adhesive, 80–100gsm), and recommended dimensions (typical sheet A4 or A5 depending on density). Your print shop runs the kiss-cut and laminates if you want it.
Print-ready delivery — CMYK
The deliverable is files ready for the printer. Production is on your side. This section is what makes the difference between "looks good on a laptop" and "comes back from the press the way it should."
Files you receive at handoff
Main album: press-ready PDF/X-1a (CMYK, 300dpi, with bleed and crop marks) + editable Adobe InDesign source (IDML format, opens in any version)
A6 sub-notebook: separate press-ready PDF/X-1a + IDML source
Sticker sheet: press-ready PDF with cut-line layer + working Illustrator AI source
Hot-stamping spec sheet: separate file showing exactly which artwork on the cover gets foil-stamped, in what color (gold), with technical line specs the printer needs
Style guide PDF: typography, color tokens, per-city palettes documented for future editions or reprints
Font licenses note: Cormorant Garamond, Lora, DM Sans — all Google Fonts, free for commercial print use
What we plan around at design time (not at the press)
Color management: CMYK from the first frame — no RGB-to-CMYK conversion shock at the end. Per-city palettes are mixed in CMYK with screen Pantone-equivalent references documented
Bleed: 3mm on every edge of every spread. Color-flooded city headers extend to the bleed line, not the trim line
Paper weight + texture spec: recommended 120gsm uncoated for interior pages (warm tactile, prints rich blacks well), 250gsm soft-touch for cover. Final selection is yours; we provide the spec
Hot-stamping zones: cover artwork is built with the foil-stamp area on a separate spot color layer, ready for the printer's foil die
Polaroid + sticker slots: measured against actual Polaroid film dimensions (~8.8×8.5cm for Polaroid 600 / i-Type) and sticker circle sizes (~3cm) so what's printed matches what gets glued in
Mineral-black page printing: the "O Que o Álbum Não Previu" pages use rich black formulation (60c 40m 40y 100k) so they don't muddy on press
Production is on your side. You handle the printer relationship, paper selection, print run quantity, sticker printing, and Polaroid film purchase. Production cost (paper, printing, binding, hot-stamping, sticker run) is separate from this design fee. We deliver everything the printer needs to do their job correctly the first time.
Schedule is tight by design — the brief volume fits 50 hours of focused work in this window if direction approval lands by end of Day 2 and feedback is consolidated rather than piecemeal.
Billed weekly for actual hours logged. The range reflects real uncertainty; you pay for hours worked, not the worst case. Caps are honored — if scope expansion would push past 52h, we flag it before burning hours.
Final deliverables
A single zipped package, organized by file type. Everything the printer needs.
